Regulating Nuclear Energy and Preventing Nuclear Weapons
The Ineffectual Role of the IAEA
As a 2010 IRP Fellow, Konstantin Kakaes examined the intersection of nuclear energy and nuclear weapons in various countries, including Jordan.
He also attended the annual conference of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) in Vienna, Austria.
In this video, Kakaes discusses how one defines a "nuclear state," and he explains why the efforts of the IAEA are largely ineffectual in containing nuclear development.
