Demonstration in Bamako
A pro-Qaddafi demonstration just took place here in Mali after midday prayer. Several thousand people gathered at the Independence Monument in downtown Bamako and marched toward the French Embassy, waving the Libyan flag and chanting, "Vive Qaddafi!"
Many Malians view Libya under Qaddafi as a good neighbor and funder of projects. There were no reports of violence.
