Rafael Cores is the personal finance and business news channel editor at Univision.com, the leading Spanish-language portal in the United States. He is also in charge of “Piensa Verde”, the environment and “green” area of the site. In his four years at the company, Cores has written and edited stories focusing on immigration, international news and business. In Spain, his country of origin, Cores was awarded a Fulbright grant, which enabled him to study at the Medill School of Journalism (Northwestern University, Evanston, IL), where he received a master’s degree in New Media. Cores holds a bachelor’s degree in Journalism from the University of Navarra, Spain. His media experience includes work at Elmundo.es, a leading information website in Spain; and El Nuevo Herald, the Spanish-language edition of The Miami Herald. He also covered the U.S. Congress for The Scranton Times, a Pennsylvania newspaper. Additionally, Cores taught writing and information technology at the University of Navarra, where, for five years, he researched journalistic genres on the Internet and hypertext.
