NPR President Kevin Klose and Iraq Panel Hightlight SAIS/IRP Conference April 19 - 20, 2007
Kevin Klose, president of National Public Radio, spoke at SAIS on Thursday, April 19 about "The Future of International News in the U.S. Media."
Before joining NPR in 1998, Klose was formerly president of Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty and previously spent 25 years as an editor and correspondent at The Washington Post. A member of the Advisory Board of the IRP, Klose spoke as part of a 2-day 9th anniversary conference of the International Reporting Project. Klose's talk was be preceded by a panel discussion on "Covering Iraq," made up of IRP alumni journalists Rajiv Chandrasekaran, assistant managing editor of The Washington Post; Chris Hondros, photojournalist with Getty Images; Quil Lawrence, foreign correspondent with PRI/BBC’s “The World”; Matt O’Neill, co-director of HBO's “Baghdad ER;” and Raney Aronson, producer for PBS’s “FRONTLINE” (moderator).
