JORDAN, January 22, 2000
This month Jordan officially opened the John the Baptist Archaeological Park. The place: Wadi Kharrar on the east bank of the Jordan River. Jordanians claim it's the site where Jesus was baptized. As Heather Szerlag reports, Jordan hopes for a tourism boom if they can convince travellers to make the site a stop on their millennial tour of the Holy Land.
