Barry Simmons
Barry Simmons is a television reporter for the CBS affiliate in Nashville, where he has covered city politics since 2000. In 2002, he reported on the shutdown of Tennessee’s state government, for which he won an Emmy. Recently, he also covered the training of National Guard troops in Mississippi as they prepared for deployment to Iraq. For his work, Simmons has received three Emmys and the Edward R. Murrow Award. He started his reporting career at KSLA-TV in Shreveport, Louisiana, after graduating from the University of Missouri with a degree in broadcast journalism.
