Anita Srikameswaran has been a medical and science writer at the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette since 1997, covering everything from AIDS to zoo husbandry. Her experience in international reporting began with a trip to Rwanda in 2000, which led to a special section about life there in the aftermath of the genocide. She began her journalistic career while doing a fellowship in science writing at the Chicago Tribune. Prior to that, she obtained a Bachelor of Science degree and a Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Manitoba and was a general practitioner in her hometown of Winnipeg, Canada.
