Dawn MacKeen

Dawn MacKeen is a New York-based freelance reporter who covers health, the environment and social issues. Her articles have appeared in the New York Times Magazine, Elle, the Toronto Globe and Mail, and Salon, where she worked as a senior writer from 1997 to 2001. Previously she worked as a bureau chief and reporter for Southern California papers of the Metropolitan News Company and as a guidebook writer for Fodor's/The Berkeley Guides. She holds a master's degree from Northwestern University's Medill School of Journalism and a B.A. in Rhetoric from the University of California at Berkeley.
