Evelyn Hockstein is a freelance photojournalist who has covered the Israeli-Palestinian conflict since 1998 for news organizations such as Knight Ridder/Tribune, The Philadelphia Inquirer, and Reuters News Pictures. In 2001 she was in West Africa photographing child slavery on cocoa plantations for an investigative package entitled "A Taste of Slavery" for Knight Ridder Newspapers. She has covered the funerals of Syrian President Hafez al-Assad and Jordan's King Hussein, as well as feature assignments in Iraq and Lebanon for Knight Ridder. Her work has been published in various international publications including The New York Times, TIME, The International Herald Tribune, Stern, L'Express, U.S. News and World Report, The Washington Post, and Sports Illustrated for Women. She obtained a Bachelor's of Arts in Diplomatic History from the University of Pennsylvania.
