Matthew Algeo
Matthew Algeo is a freelance writer and reporter currently based in West Africa. His first book, Last Team Standing: How the Steelers and the Eagles - The Steagles - Saved Pro Football During World War II, was published in 2006. He previously worked as a reporter for "Marketplace," a business news program heard on more than 330 public radio stations. Algeo has also worked as a reporter at public radio stations in Seattle, St. Louis, Minnesota and Maine. His experience is not limited to journalism, however. At various times he's been a convenience store clerk, a gas station attendant, a Halloween costume salesman and a proofreader. He also worked in a traveling circus. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Pennsylvania, where he majored in folklore.
