Anne Barnard
Anne Barnard covers the Middle East for The Boston Globe. Previously, she covered the Iraq war for the Globe, living in Baghdad full time for nearly two years. Before that, she was based in Boston, covering 9/11 and its aftermath in addition to health care and local news. She worked for The Philadelphia Inquirer from 1996 until early 2000. From 1993 to 1995, she worked in Russia as a reporter at The Moscow Times, an independently owned English-language daily. She covered Moscow municipal government as well as national and business news. Previously, she worked as a researcher and editorial assistant for New York Times columnist Leslie Gelb. She graduated from Yale with a degree in English.
