Joby Warrick Publishes Book on Triple Agent

By IRP Staff, August 03, 2011

Joby Warrick, a 2009 IRP Fellow, reporter for The Washington Post, and author of See No Evil (later made into the film Syriana), recently released his newest nonfiction book, The Triple Agent: The al-Qaeda Mole Who Infiltrated the CIA. In it, he recounts the story behind a suicide attack against Forward Operating Base Chapman--a secret CIA base in Afghanistan--by a Jordanian double-agent the CIA had thought was planted in al-Qaeda, resulting in the most lethal attack on the agency since 1983. He recently spoke about his new book at the Politics and Prose Bookstore. Warrick reported from the Middle East as an IRP Fellow, reporting on Iran's mounting nuclear capabilities, black-market arms deals, the establishment of a nuclear facility in Qom, and escalating tensions in negotiations with the five permanent members of the U.N. Security Council.
