Carey Wagner is an international freelance photographer based in Los Angeles. She uses still cameras, video, sound recorders and non-linear editing software to tell stories. She worked as a staff photographer at the Sun Sentinel in Florida for five years. Previously she worked as a staff photographer for newspapers in California, at the Auburn Journal, The Desert Sun and The Fresno Bee. Wagner has lived in Chile, Australia and has photographed throughout the Caribbean, South America and Asia. She has been honored for her up-close storytelling including domestic violence, growth in Panama, ethanol in Brazil and unique domestic relationships. In college, she traveled around the country shooting college basketball and football as a photo editor at The Daily Californian at University of California at Berkeley, while also studying cognitive science and Spanish.
