Almudena Toral is an award-winning Spanish visual journalist and multimedia producer based in New York. She specializes in web documentary and digital video. Her work has been published by The New York Times, TIME, The Guardian, El País and other outlets in the U.S., Europe and Latin America. Previously, she reported on health and development on IRP's 2013 new media reporting trip to Tanzania.
Toral holds degrees from Johns Hopkins University (SAIS) and City University of New York Graduate School of Journalism. She is passionate about multi-platform storytelling, human rights and health issues, the global south and immigration policy, among others.
