Abby Seiff is a freelance reporter who has been based in Southeast Asia since 2009. Her work focuses on religion, migration and the law. Most recently, she has written about Beijing’s crackdown on human rights lawyers, torture in Thailand’s Deep South, and climate change in Nepal. Her reporting and photography have appeared in a range of publications including Newsweek, the Guardian, Time, Al Jazeera, the Economist, and more. Prior to becoming a freelancer, she served as an editor for several years at The Cambodia Daily and the Phnom Penh Post.
