John Rash writes the Rash Report column, which explores the intersection of media, culture, society and politics. He is also an editorial writer and a member of the Star Tribune’s Editorial Board. He teaches Mass Media and Politics at his alma mater, the University of Minnesota, where he majored in political science and minored in French. His commentary on media, politics and pop culture can be heard on “The Rash Report,” which runs Monday-Friday at 7:50 a.m. on WCCO-AM (830), the CBS radio affiliate in the Twin Cities. Prior to joining the Editorial Board he was a senior vice president, director of media analysis for Campbell Mithun, a Minneapolis-based national advertising agency. He lives in St. Louis Park with his wife and two children.
Rash was awarded a prior fellowship with IRP, reporting from Rwanda in 2011.
