Sarah Kimani is the East African correspondent with the South African Broadcasting Corporation. She is based in her home country, Kenya, and travels to several East African countries telling stories on the region. Due to the conflicts in South Sudan, Somalia and the DRC, she spends most of her time reporting on conflict. She also finds time to report on women and children, a subject she holds dear. She has won the CNN African Journalist of the Year award twice and has also been recognized for her work on environment reporting by the Peter Jenkins Foundation. When she is not reporting, she enjoys reading a good book and spending time with family and friends.
