Devon Haynie is international news editor for U.S. News & World Report, where she reports on global trends and helps edit and recruit an international roster of accomplished freelancers. Prior to joining the international team, she covered higher education for U.S. News. Haynie was named an Overseas Press Club fellow in 2008 and spent four months writing and reporting from the Associated Press bureau in Johannesburg, South Africa. For several years she worked at Indiana’s Fort Wayne Journal Gazette, where she covered everything from education to the military. She has been a writing fellow at the University of San Diego's Institute for Peace and Justice and spent several months living and working in Albania. Haynie has a bachelor’s degree in peace studies from Colgate University and a master’s in journalism from Columbia University.
