Susana Ferreira is a freelance print and radio journalist, and has been based in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, since 2010. She regularly files features and breaking news pieces for Reuters, TIME, and CBC Radio, and has previously worked for the Wall Street Journal’s Southern Europe bureau and the France24 news channel in Paris. She’s been awarded grants by the Pulitzer Center on Crisis Reporting to cover xenophobia and migration to South Africa in 2010, as well as from the Ontario Arts Council and Canada Council for the Arts for non-fiction writing. A native Portuguese speaker, Susana also speaks English, French, Haitian Creole and Spanish. She has a master's degree from Columbia University's Graduate School of Journalism and another from Sciences Po, Paris.
