Kenya Downs is a multimedia editor and reporter for Public Radio International's Global Nation and is based in Washington, D.C. Her career has focused on issues of race and social justice, gender rights, immigration and features from throughout the African diaspora. She has previously led online coverage of race and education with PBS NewsHour and has worked in newsrooms at NPR, Al Jazeera and CBS News. She holds a master's degree from American University and a bachelor's degree from Howard University, both in Washington. Kenya also provides coverage of the Caribbean region and its diaspora for PRI and TeamSoca.com.
