David Rochkind is a freelance photojournalist based in Mexico City. Previously, he was based in Caracas, Venezuela. He has worked extensively throughout Latin America and has also worked in Afghanistan and East Africa. His work typically focuses on the ways in which economic and health concerns shape impoverished communities. Rochkind also covers news and produces feature stories for a variety of clients, including The New York Times, Time Magazine, Glamour, Stern, The Observer Sunday Magazine and CARE. In 2008 he was chosen as one of Photo District News' "30 New and Emerging Photographers to Watch." He graduated from the University of Michigan with a B.A in Sociology.
