Marcia Franklin has been a producer and host at Idaho Public Television since 1990. Prior to her current position, she was a general assignment reporter for KIFI-TV in Idaho Falls and the assistant to the news director for KQED-TV in San Francisco. Franklin is currently is the host of "Dialogue," a statewide call-in program, and a producer for "Outdoor Idaho," a statewide documentary series. In addition, Marcia has produced pieces for national public television programs and is the recipient of several grants from MacNeil/Lehrer Productions. Her programs have won numerous awards, including a George Foster Peabody Award, two regional Emmys and the Special Jury prize at WorldFest. In 1997, she taught seminars to reporters in Uzbekistan, under the auspices of Internews. In 2003, she spent six weeks in Iran producing and shooting a documentary on the environmental movement in that country, as part of a IRP Fellowship in International Journalism.
