Ann Lopez is studio director of Public Radio International’s “The World,” overseeing the daily broadcast of this one-hour, weekday radio news magazine that offers a mix of news, features, interviews and music from around the globe. Through partnerships with BBC World Service, the network provides over 400 hours of programming each week that is both broadcast and streamed online by almost 750 PRI affiliates nationwide, reaching 29 million listeners each week. Lopez also serves as producer for “The World,” identifying story ideas and working with reporters, editors and hosts to craft stories for the program. She also blogs about music and artists featured on the program. She is a graduate of Hunter College in New York, with a BA in English and Women’s Studies, and attended the Graduate School of Journalism at the University of California at Berkeley.
