Ann Derry supervises online video programming and television partnerships at The New York Times. In 2005 she founded The Times’ video department, which produces original video in The Times newsroom. She oversees the video news report for The Times, supervising journalists shooting video on breaking news, enterprise and feature stories around the world. Previously Derry was managing director, television and video, for The Times, overseeing documentary programs and international television partnerships, including “China Rises,” a four-part documentary television series. Before that, she was director of program production for New York Times Television, where she developed a slate of original documentaries. Before joining The Times in 1999, Derry oversaw documentaries and interactive projects for Broadway Video. Previously, she supervised documentary films at J.C. Crimmins and Company. Derry was the writer for “Moment of Impact,” an Emmy award-winning television/book/museum project. She has also been writer, producer and director on documentary programs and series for National Geographic Television, ABC News, Turner Broadcasting and Showtime.
