Sadie Babits is a freelance journalist based in Portland, Oregon. Previously, she was the news director at Bosie State Radio in Idaho. Prior to that she was the regional host of "Morning Edition" and a reporter at KNAU - Arizona Public Radio in Flagstaff. She was a state capitol reporter and news anchor for the Boise State Radio network in Boise, Idaho for more than five years before coming to KNAU. Her radio features focus on western environmental issues including the debate over forest management and recreational use of public lands. Her stories have aired nationally on several National Public Radio news magazines including “Morning Edition,” “All Things Considered,” “Living on Earth” and “Only a Game.” In 2002, she received a Public Radio News Directors, Inc. award for spot reporting and a 2001 Reel Award from the National Community Broadcasters Association for a feature on the group known as the “Rainbow Family.” She graduated with honors from Boise State University with a B.A. in Political Science with an emphasis in International Relations.
