Heather Anne Szerlag is a freelance journalist who most recently worked as a producer for the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation in Washington, D.C. During her two years at CBC-Radio she produced stories on topics ranging from the international treaty to ban landmines and the WTO banana dispute to the 1998 U.S. midtern elections and the Clinton scandal. She has freelanced for the San Francisco Chronicle, Earth Times and the syndicated public radio show, "Marketplace." Previously, she worked as a reporter covering children's rights and national security issues for various Washington-based news agencies. She received an MS degree in Journalism from Columbia University and a BA degree from the University of Michigan.
