The International Reporting Project (IRP) has selected nine U.S. journalists to report from Ethiopia on June 14-27, 2014.
IRP’s new media fellows will focus on Ethiopia’s efforts to prevent newborn deaths, as well as provide an overview of maternal and child health, immunizations, nutrition, communicable diseases, and health care provision, among other topics.
The nine new media journalists selected for the Ethiopia trip are:

The Ethiopia trip is IRP’s twenty-fourth reporting trip since 2000. Previous IRP trip participants have traveled to Brazil (in 2001 and 2014), Tanzania, Kazakhstan, Zambia, Saudi Arabia, Kenya (in 2009 and 2012), Rwanda, Indonesia (in 2000 and 2011), Liberia, China, Peru, Turkey, Uganda, Korea, Nigeria, Egypt, India (in 2005 and 2013), Lebanon/Syria, and South Africa. In addition to the trips, the IRP continues to offer individual fellowships to U.S. and international reporters.
Support for IRP is provided by foundations, individuals and nongovernmental donors. The program is based in Washington at the Johns Hopkins University’s School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS).
