Shravan Vidyarthi is a filmmaker and photojournalist based in Nairobi and New York. His short documentaries have screened at The Museum of Modern Art, The Metropolitan Museum of Art, and The National Gallery of Art. In 2007, his short documentary about New York taxi drivers aired on PBS and Current TV. His first feature documentary, about Kenya’s first Life magazine photographer, won three awards at the 2008 Zanzibar Film Festival. In 2008/9, Shravan was commissioned by the United Nations to photograph its initiatives in The Republic of Congo, Gambia, and Rwanda.
Shravan holds a BA in English, French, and African Studies from Georgetown University, and a Masters in Media Studies from The New School. He speaks English, French, Swahili, and Punjabi.
