Stacy Sullivan is the US Media Director for Human Rights Watch in New York. Earlier, she was a freelance journalist based in New York. She graduated from Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs in 1995. After that she was based in Sarajevo for two years, covering the Balkans for Newsweek and The Times of London. Her articles on the region also appeared in The Washington Post, the New Republic and The Independent. She covered the conflict in Kosovo for TIME magazine. While working on a series for Newsweek entitled “Fugitives,” she tracked down dozens of war crimes suspects indicted by the United Nations war crimes tribunal for the former Yugoslavia. She has a BA degree in political science and German from the University of California at Santa Barbara.
