Elaisha Stokes is a journalist and documentary filmmaker covering international human rights and foreign affairs, housing and women. She currently divides her time between central Africa and New York City. Her work appears regularly in The New York Times, Al Jazeera America, Monocle magazine and GlobalPost. Her film production company, Zetetic Films, has produced documentaries for national broadcast. Stokes has a Masters in Journalism from Columbia University, a Masters in Media Production from Ryerson University, and a BSc in Global Development and Agriculture from the University of British Columbia. Her work has been supported by the International Women's Media Foundation, the Nation Institute for Investigative Reporting, the Patsy Preston Pulitzer Grant for Documentary Filmmaking, The New York Emmy Foundation, The Ontario Arts Council and the Columbia-DuPont Awards.
