Jeff Sharlet is the New York Times bestselling author of “The Family,” “C Street,” and “Sweet Heaven When I Die.” He's the co-author, with Peter Manseau, of “Killing the Buddha,” and co-editor, with Manseau, of “Believer, Beware.” A contributing editor for Rolling Stone and Harper's Magazine, Sharlet has also published broadly in periodicals such as Mother Jones, The Nation, The New Republic, New Statesman, Salon, The Advocate, Lapham's Quarterly, and Oxford American, and been a frequent guest on MSNBC's “Rachel Maddow Show” and NPR's “Fresh Air.” Sharlet is the co-creator of KillingTheBuddha.com, an online literary magazine about religion and culture, and TheRevealer.org, published by New York University's Center for Religion and Media. He teaches creative nonfiction at Dartmouth College, where he is the Mellon Assistant Professor of English.
