Emily Schultze

Emily Schultze is the senior producer in CNN's White House unit. Named to this position in August 2005 Schultze is responsible for coordinating editorial information and logistical resources from the Washington, D.C. bureau to the CNN networks. She joined CNN’s political team as a White House producer in October 2000. Her first assignment for CNN was the final two months of the 2000 presidential campaign, traveling on the road with CNN's Senior White House reporter John King. She has packaged and field produced nationally and internationally.

In addition to covering the White House Schultze has covered large-scale special events, including the Republican National Convention in New York, the Democratic National Convention in Denver, 2008 election night in Phoenix and the inauguration of President Obama. Before joining CNN, Schultze was a producer for CBS News in Washington, D.C. At CBS she started on the assignment desk as a field and pool producer.  During the election cycles Schultze moved into the role of  political producer, covering the 1996 campaign of Vice President Al Gore, the 2000  presidential campaign of Senator John McCain and again the 2000 presidential campaign of Al Gore. She holds a B.A in French and Political Science from James Madison University.
