Sarah Parvini is a reporter on the Metro desk of the Los Angeles Times. She covers breaking news and stories throughout the state, with a focus currently on immigration issues. She was part of the team that won the 2016 Pulitzer Prize for its coverage of the San Bernardino terrorist attack. Her interest in telling stories about faith stems from her time in Ireland and Northern Ireland, where she reported on the influence of the Catholic Church and the often bitter divide between Catholics and Protestants in the region. She is a proud first-generation Iranian-American and speaks fluent Persian.
