Jillian Keenan is a freelance journalist based in New York City with interests in press freedom, nuclear politics, sexuality, Shakespeare, international human rights, and travel. Her features, essays, articles, and opinion pieces have appeared in the New York Times, Washington Post, Atlantic, Slate, Marie Claire, More Magazine, Los Angeles Review of Books, and elsewhere. Her work has been discussed by Al Jazeera English, BBC World Service, Huffington Post Live, The Week, The Atlantic, and on radio programs as diverse as “The Rush Limbaugh Show” and Dan Savage’s “The Savage Lovecast.” She received her B.A. and M.A. from Stanford University, and is a two-time Fulbright grant recipient.
