Ian Bateson is a foreign correspondent based in Ukraine. He has reported for Reuters in Russia, and for Foreign Policy, the New York Times and the Guardian in Ukraine. He was the founding anchor on Hromadske International's Sunday Show, and is a former Fulbright and DAAD scholar. Bateson holds master's degrees from the Diplomatic Academy of Vienna and the Free University of Berlin, and a bachelor's degree from Columbia University. He is working on a book about Ukrainian identity after the Maidan revolution.
