Edith Honan is a journalist based in Nairobi, Kenya. A native New Yorker, she spent nearly a decade with Reuters, covering American politics, counter-terrorism prosecutions in New York City courts, mass shootings and natural disasters. In 2014, she was named Reuters’ East Africa correspondent, in Nairobi, where she covered the massacre in Garissa University in Kenya and Uganda’s 2016 presidential election. She now regularly writes about social justice and economic issues for the Financial Times, and other publications.
