Amy Hollyfield is the government and politics editor for the St. Petersburg Times. She directs a staff of 13 editors and reporters on state and national political coverage, including bureaus in Tallahassee and Washington, and PolitiFact.com and PolitiFact Florida, the Times’ fact-checking websites. She also manages partnerships with other news organizations. Hollyfield started her career as a sports designer at Florida Today, and worked for the Miami Herald before coming to the Times, where she became Sunday editor and then news design director. In 2007, when the Times launched PolitiFact to cover the 2008 presidential election, she became an editor/reporter for the site. She received a B.S. in Journalism from Northwestern University.
