Joe Freeman is a Myanmar-based journalist who focuses on politics and current affairs. Before moving to Yangon in 2015, he was a reporter and then editor at the Phnom Penh Post, an English-language daily in Cambodia. He has written for the Washington Post, the Atlantic, the New Yorker and the Economist, among others. Originally from Philadelphia, he studied Classics at Kenyon College and obtained a master's degree in journalism from Northwestern University.
