Robbie Corey-Boulet is a freelance journalist who has been based in West Africa since 2011. His reporting on human rights and LGBT issues has been published by The Guardian, Al Jazeera, The Associated Press and Guernica, among other outlets. In 2016 he completed a two-year fellowship for the Institute of Current World Affairs researching LGBT activism and homophobia in Côte d’Ivoire, Burkina Faso and Cameroon. He has also received funding from The Investigative Fund at the Nation Institute and New America’s Global Gender Parity Initiative. Prior to moving to West Africa, he worked for The Phnom Penh Post in Cambodia.
