Mindy Kay Bricker is the editor of the Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists. The Bulletin was founded in 1945 by scientists, engineers, and other experts who had created the atomic bomb as part of the Manhattan Project. The Bulletin has included the writings of prominent scientists including Albert Einstein, Edward Teller, J. Robert Oppenheimer, and Mikhail Gorbachev, and other leading public figures. It received the 2007 National Magazine Award for General Excellence, and has received many other significant journalism awards for its content. Its articles are quoted widely by general interest news media— including The New York Times, the New Yorker, Los Angeles Times, and The Atlantic. Its articles also have direct impact on policy and policymakers. In addition to selecting and commissioning all news content for this bimonthly journal and its website, Bricker conceptualizes and implements special editorial projects for the Bulletin, such as a recent three-year roundtable on development and disarmament, which will draw on experts in developing and emerging countries, with essays featured in English, Arabic, Chinese, and Spanish. Previously, Bricker worked at the World Affairs Journal, where she launched the publication’s website and managed more than a dozen blogs written by top foreign policy experts. Before that she worked for seven years in Prague, where she reported and edited for a number of publications, including the International Herald Tribune, Time magazine, and The Christian Science Monitor.  She helped launch the magazine Marie Claire in the Czech market. She has reported from many countries, including Iran, Uganda, Bosnia, and Italy. She received a BA in Journalism from the University of Missouri, Columbia.
