Ben Arnoldy is the Deputy International Editor at The Christian Science Monitor, which is based in Boston. He recently spent several years based in New Delhi covering India, Pakistan, and Afghanistan for the Monitor. He has held a wide variety of other posts during his 13 years at the Monitor: some international editing, some reporting from around the American West, and some coding in the early days of csmonitor.com. During the 2003 invasion of Iraq, he became perhaps the first online journalist to embed with the military. His journalism work has been recognized by the Online News Association, the Education Writers Association, and the Sidney Hillman Foundation. He has taught online journalism at the 9.9 School of Convergence in New Delhi. For the past half dozen years or so, he has produced a weekly sudoku for the Monitor. He graduated from Georgetown University with a BA in English and a minor in Computer Science.
