Ryan Anson is a freelance photojournalist based in Washington D.C. and Southeast Asia. He is currently represented by Network Photographers, a London-based photo agency. He has worked in more than 20 countries while traveling in Africa, Asia and Europe. In the last three years, he has worked on stories for a variety of magazines and newspapers including The Washington Post, TIME-Asia, BusinessWeek, The Far Eastern Economic Review, The New York Times and others. He has also produced numerous visual advocacy projects for international and Philippines-based non-government organizations such as Community and Family Services International, Compassion Canada, Shangilia Mtoto wa Afrika and the United Nations Development Program. His two-year documentary about conflict and peace building in the southern Philippines, entitled “Mindanao on the Mend,” was exhibited at the photojournalism festival in Perpignan, France in 2002, and later published in a book by Anvil Inc. in 2003.
