Amelia Newcomb is the assistant international editor at The Christian Science Monitor. Prior to that, she held positions as the editor of The Monitor’s award-winning education section and its Ideas section, and wrote on a wide variety of education issues. She has also reported periodically from China and Japan. Before joining The Monitor 13 years ago, Newcomb worked for Japan’s Yomiuri Shimbun in Washington for two years. A graduate of Harvard University, she also holds a master’s degree in International Relations from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy.
