Jessica Camille Aguirre is a journalist based in Germany. Until early 2017, she was a staff correspondent in Paris for the Deutsche Presse-Agentur (DPA), where she covered migration, climate change, terrorism and politics. Her writing has appeared in Backchannel, the Los Angeles Review of Books and Smithsonian, among many others; it has also been featured by Longreads. Aguirre’s newspaper investigations into political extremism in rural New Hampshire received awards from the regional and state press associations. A California native, she is a former Fulbright fellow and graduated from Columbia University and Smith College.
